Give Hope Ethiopia is currently working in two regional states in Ethiopia, namely, Addis Ababa and Oromia regional states.
Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, capital city of Ethiopia, is a city with various aspects of urban problems, which include among others, a highly skewed income disparity, deepening poverty, a concentration of low incomes, overcrowded conditions, high rates of unemployment, severe housing shortage and poor housing, transport and infrastructure problems and other related urban problems. In Addis Ababa, there is an ever-growing mismatch between the size of the population and its demand for basic services.
Yeka sub-city, where Give Hope Ethiopia is operating, is one of the most poverty-stricken area in the city. one of the 10 sub-cities in Addis Ababa. It is one of the 10 subcities of Addis Ababa, It is located in northeastern suburb of the city bordering with the districts of Gullele, Arada, Kirkos and Bole. Give Hope Ethiopia works in woreda/district 9, 11, 12, and 13 of the sub-city.
Oromia
Oromia Region is the largest regional state of Ethiopia occupying a total land area of 353,690 square kilometers. The region covers varied landscape ranging from rugged mountain ranges in the center and the north, to flat grassland to the south-east. Give Hope Ethiopia operates in Legetafo Legedadi, Bereh district, and Yerer Kontoba areas of Oromia region.

Yerer Kontoba is found 39km far from the capital city Addis Ababa. It is a remote area with limited infrastructure and transport service. The people lead their life by farming.
